Anton Papp
Chief Investment Officer
Anton Papp is Chief Investment Officer at Carnegie Foundry, where he leads capital strategy, institutional investor engagement, and strategic partnerships to support the commercialization of industrial AI and robotics spinouts from Carnegie Mellon University’s National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC). Based in California, he helps connect West Coast investors and strategic partners with Carnegie Foundry’s venture-creation model and growing portfolio momentum.
Papp brings more than two decades of experience in corporate development, M&A, and strategic partnerships across technology and industrial automation, with senior leadership roles at Matthews International, Rockwell Automation, and Ping Identity. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Business Development and M&A at Matthews International, leading strategy and inorganic growth initiatives across the company’s $300 million industrial technology segment. He previously served as Vice President and Head of Corporate Development at Ping Identity (acquired for $2.8B) and held corporate development roles at Rockwell Automation, Teradata, and Aprimo.
He holds board positions with Freespace Robotics and Thryve Labs and spent more than a decade in technology investment banking at Robertson Stephens, Banc of America Securities, and Montgomery & Co. Papp holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Boston University. He began his career as a U.S. Naval Aviator flying the F-14 Tomcat and is a graduate of the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun).
