Thryve Labs Accepted into AI Startup Programs with AWS, Microsoft, Google, and NVIDIA

Thursday Oct 9th, 2025

PITTSBURGH, PA – Every night, somewhere in America, an exhausted daughter checks on her father with dementia for the third time. A spouse reheats their morning coffee, yet again, after tending to a loved one’s needs. An aide rushes between a dozen rooms, knowing she can't give each resident the attention they deserve.

This is the reality of caregiving in America today. And Thryve Labs just secured the resources to help change it.

Today, Thryve Labs announced its acceptance into startup programs from all four major cloud and AI providers: AWS Startups, Microsoft for Startups, Google for Startups Cloud Program, and NVIDIA Inception program, unlocking over $500,000 in cloud computing credits and access to advanced AI tools and infrastructure, resources that will directly fuel solutions for America’s caregivers.

"This represents one of America's greatest opportunities to demonstrate our values—supporting the 55 million who embody love, dedication, and sacrifice through caregiving," said Edward Ovando, Chief Product Officer at Thryve Labs. "These opportunities accelerate our mission to deploy AI that works 24/7, never burns out, and extends the capacity of human caregivers' to deliver even more compassionate care."

The Opportunity to Transform Care

By 2030, 1 in 5 Americans will be aging into their golden years, creating unprecedented opportunities to reimagine care delivery. Family caregivers already contribute an extraordinary $600 billion in care annually—a testament to American families' resilience and love. Now, with the right technology and support, we can:

  • Honor the 88% of seniors who wish to age at home
  • Support the millions of family caregivers balancing work and care responsibilities
  • Empower professional caregivers to deliver more personalized attention
  • Create sustainable care models that preserve dignity and independence

"We are not building technology just because we can," said Dr. Robert J. Szczerba, CEO of Thryve Labs. "We're building it for the 38-year-old daughter who put her career on hold to care for her mother. For the 72-year-old husband who hasn't had a full night’s sleep in months. Every line of code we write and every sensor we deploy is meant to lighten their load, restore dignity, and give these everyday heroes some of their life back."

Technology That Meets Humanity's Needs

The cloud resources will accelerate development of Thryve Labs' core capabilities, including:

  • Family Peace of Mind: Real-time insights, alerts, and updates for adult children—many living hours away from aging parents.
  • Predictive Health Intelligence: Processing billions of sensor data points to predict and prevent crises, falls, and acute health events before they happen.
  • Caregiver Force Multiplication: AI-enabled oversight that helps professional caregivers provide enhanced care to more residents without compromising well-being or privacy.
  • Economic Relief: Helping families avoid the $100K+ annual cost of institutional care by enabling safe, independent aging at home.

Bridging the Digital Divide in Elder Care

As a Carnegie Foundry portfolio company emerging from Carnegie Mellon University, Thryve Labs represents a new model: applying world-class AI research with deep empathy for the lived experience of caregivers.

Thryve’s passive monitoring system requires no regular interaction, no apps to learn, no buttons to push, no devices to wear and forget. It simply works: invisibly, continuously, compassionately.

The company's acceptance into all major cloud programs validates what caregivers already know and have been telling us: technology must be invisible to be effective, comprehensive to be trusted, and affordable to be accessible.
